Built by Hand. Rooted in Tradition.

The story behind Rosa Lake Lodge begins here.

Our Story:
The Fisher Family Legacy

Four people standing in front of a chain-link fence, with a large dinosaur sculpture behind them. The group includes two men, a woman, and a young boy, all smiling and holding hands. The dinosaur appears to be a large, predatory species with an open mouth, displayed outdoors on a cloudy day with trees in the background.

The story of Rosa Lake Lodge begins nearly a century ago.

In the 1930s, members of the Fisher family made their way to Rosa Lake on horseback from nearby Civilian Conservation Corps camps, drawn by the quiet beauty of the Northwoods and what was known as some of the best fishing in the area.

By the 1950s, that connection to the land became something permanent when JD’s grandparents, Donald and Jenny Fisher, built the original family cabin along the lake’s shoreline.

Generations later, that same love for Rosa Lake lived on. In 2000, JD’s father, John Fisher, expanded the vision and built what is now known as Rosa Lake Lodge, creating a place where family, nature, and time together could be fully enjoyed.

After John’s passing, JD and his wife Alexis thoughtfully carried the legacy forward, renovating and reimagining the lodge while preserving everything that has always made this place special.
